Een blog over politiek en dat van een student? Het bestaat!
Veel van mijn leeftijdsgenoten zijn gedesinteresseerd in politiek. Ze volgen de actualiteit niet of zijn ontgoocheld. Jammer, want bij elke verkiezingen moeten ze verplicht gaan stemmen. Veel zijn dan ook weinig kritiekloos. Bart De Wever vond dat de studenten van tegenwoordig te mak waren, niet mondig genoeg. Ik ben geen student meer, maar ik ben niet van plan te stoppen!
Deze Mondige zal het tegendeel bewijzen! Ik ga bloggen over de politieke actualiteit. Mijn voornaamste interesses zijn het milieu, maatschappelijke ontwikkelingen en de economie. Ik zal proberen een kritische noot te zijn in het media-landschap, en correcte duiding geven daar waar de traditionele media faalt. Ik streef naar intellectuele eerlijkheid, liegen of manipuleren is niet mijn ding.
Sommige van mijn standpunten zijn radicaal, u bent altijd vrij om er niet mee eens te zijn en dan ook te reageren. Ik zal proberen mijzelf te verduidelijken. Omdat mijn standpunten radicaal zijn, zal ik deze zo nodig nuanceren of kritische vragen over stellen. Dit is om aandachtige lezers te doen reflecteren. Ik heb niet de bedoeling om mensen te doen overtuigen, maar te doen nadenken.
Ik ben een man wiens toekomst nog voor de boeg ligt. Ik zou dit kunnen onder mijn echte naam. Na het relletje rond uitspraken van Theo Francken in zijn studententijd zal dit niet mogelijk zijn. Wie weet ziet mijn toekomstige werkgever dit en beslist hij/zij om mij niet aan te nemen! Het is zeer spijtig dat in een westers land als België vrije meningsuiting niet bestaat of zelfs bestraft wordt. Ik zal dan ook anoniem blijven.
Deze anonimiteit belet mij niet dat ik op een transparante wijze wil bloggen. Niets is zo ergerlijk aan opiniemakers die duidelijk vanuit een politieke of ideologische ingesteldheid opiniëren maar pretenderen neutraal te zijn. Tussen de lijntjes is het wel overduidelijk waar zij voor staan. Ik doe dit in ieder geval niet. Nee, ik ben niet neutraal, ik heb een duidelijke mening.
Bij deze: ik ben een Vlaams-nationalist van de cultuurnationalistische en separatistische soort, ik ben voor de onafhankelijkheid van Vlaanderen. Dit belet mij niet om met open blik naar de rest van de wereld te kijken, ik ben niet tegen internationale samenwerking. Die internationale samenwerking neemt voor mij niet de vorm van de Europese Unie, die naar mijn mening de Europese diverse realiteit ontkent. Ik ben voor de vorming van regionale unies, zoals de Benelux Unie. Dit wilt zeggen dat ik een radicale euroscepticus ben die liever gisteren dan morgen het einde van de EU ziet.
Mijn oppositie tegen de EU is zeer zeker gestoeld uit mijn nationalistische visie van volk en staat maar ook uit mijn humanistisch conservatief wereldbeeld. Ik ben als vrijdenker en atheïst ook humanist maar ook omdat ik de op wetenschap gebaseerde menselijkheid in al zijn facetten centraal maak in mijn denken. Ik vertrek dan ook vanuit een tragisch mensbeeld, gestoeld op de hedendaagse darwinistische kennis van de menselijke natuur. Ethisch ben ik niet tegen abortus, euthanasie of homoseksualiteit maar ik als humanistische-conservatieve maak ik wel kritische kanttekeningen. Ik ben niet tegen religies an sich zolang deze zich cultureel manifesteren. De islam doet dat niet en ben ik dan ook radicaal tegen.
Economisch ben ik eerder centrum dan rechts, ik zie kapitalisme als het enigste werkende economisch systeem maar ik zie de noodzaak van een welvaartsstaat en staatsregulatie tout court die de scherpe kantjes ervan afvijlen. Ik ben dan ook economisch een communitaristisch, de economie dient ten dienste te staan van de gemeenschap en niet andersom.
U kan mij volgen op de sociale media. Ik ben zeer actief op Twitter (@mondigestudent) en ik gebruik dat medium ten volle. Mijn blogs verschijnen sporadisch op alternatieve media zoals Veren of Lood, die geen probleem maakt van mijn anonimiteit, waarvoor dank.

A blog about politics and that of a student? It exists!
Many of my peers are not interested in politics. They do not follow the news or are disappointed. Too bad, because in each election they must vote mandatory. Many are therefore not critical. Bart De Wever (president of N-VA, the largest party of Flanders) believed that today's students are too easy, not enough rebellious. I am not a student anymore, but I'm not planning to stop now!
This Vocal One will prove the contrary! I'm going to blog about the political news. My main interests are the environment, social development and the economy. I will try to be a critical note in the media landscape, and give a clear indication of where the traditional media fails. I strive for intellectual honesty, lying or manipulating is not my thing.
Some of my views are radical, you are always free to disagree and to respond accordingly. I will try to clarify myself. Because my views are radical, I will nuance them or ask critical questions. This is to reflect attentive readers. I do not intend to convince people, but to think about it.
I'm a man whose future is still lying ahead. I could do this under my real name. After the debate about Theo Francken's (the State Secretary) statements in his student time this will not be possible. Who knows, my future employer sees this and decides he/she does not hire me! It is very regrettable that in a Western country like Belgium there is no free expression or even punished for it. I will remain anonymous.
This anonymity does not prevent me from blogging in a transparent way. Nothing is more irritating than opinion makers who clearly argue from a political or ideological mindset but pretend to be neutral. Based on their writings it is clear what they stand for. I will not do this in the least. No, I'm not neutral, I have a clear opinion.
As such: I am a Flemish nationalist of the cultural and separatist kind, I am for the independence of Flanders. This does not prevent me from looking open to the rest of the world, I am not against international cooperation. That international cooperation does not seem to me to be the shape of the European Union, which in my opinion denies the European diversity. I am for the formation of regional unions, such as the Benelux Union. This means I'm a radical euro skeptic who would rather see the end of the EU yesterday than tomorrow.
My opposition to the EU is very much based on my nationalist vision of people, and also from my humanist conservative worldview. As a freethinker and atheist, I am also humanist, but also because I focus on the science-based humanity in all its aspects in my thinking. I therefore start from a tragic human image, based on today's Darwinist knowledge of human nature. Ethically, I am not against abortion, euthanasia or homosexuality, but I, as a humanist conservative, make critical criticisms. I am not against religions as long as they manifest themselves culturally. Islam does not and I am therefore radically opposed.
Economically, I'm rather centre than right, I see capitalism as the only working economical system, but I see the need for a welfare state and state regulation that cuts of its sharp edges. I am therefore economically a communitarian, the economy must serve the community and not the other way round.
